Judging by the incessant traffic and lively crowds at night and in the early morning hours in some areas of Barcelona, it might be said that the city never sleeps.
Port Vell and Port Olímpic are two of the favorite spots for night-time amusement. The district of La Ribera, around Paseo del Born, boasts numerous late night haunts and nightclubs with live music. The central area of the Eixample, the district of Gràcia, the uptown part of Diagonal and nearby Tibidabo are other possible alternatives. Such is the popularity of the night that some museums even schedule enticing late evening activities. Imagine a summer concert on the terrace of Gaudí’s La Pedrera, followed by a chilled glass of “cava” beneath a starstudded sky.
